Top Left: Calcagni by Aldo
I went out yesterday to look for the perfect wedges to wear with my birthday dress, which isn’t for another 2 1/2 weeks. There is nothing wrong with being prepared!! I went into Aldo thinking, I’ll probably find something, maybe maybe not. I saw these babies and I knew I absolutely had to have them. Then I turned the shoe over, saw the price and put it back on the self, devastated by the price. Long story short and will some motherly help, I am so happy I left with them.
Top Right: Double Wink by Revlon
In my previous post, “Lashes, lashes, lashes” I showed these. Although I haven’t worn them yet, I am extremely excited to. I think I may save them for my birthday.
Bottom Left: Hello Kitty pill case
I love finding cute Hello Kitty things in random toy stores. I have been wanting a Hello Kitty pill case since I have to take medicine daily now. I came across this and didn’t think twice about adding it to my ever vastly growing collection.
Bottom Right: Mat Bronze by Make Up Forever
When Make Up Forever announced that they were going against the mold and releasing a matte bronzer, I squealed. I never really was a fan of bronzers because they all are so shimmery and even a light application can make your face look like you came out of Twilight. It wears very very well and I’m just in love with it. I’m considering picking up a lighter shade for contouring purposes.
Where did the month of April go? I feel as if it was just Easter. Whew!
I am a big fan on NYX, mostly because my favorite drag queens use it daily. But that is neither here or there. I went to my local beauty store, actually the only one that has a store stock of NYX in my area, to pick up a few things. I left with these beauties.
Left to right: 601 Castle, 627 Fusion, 13 Vanilla Sky, 908 Seafoam Green, 836 Bloom, 917 Purple
Castle is actually a nice pigmented lavender. The bottom of the lipstick itself is a little deceiving. It pairs nicely with the purple liner. I am on the hunt to find a matte purple lipstick now. Fusion is true to color and I can see this easily being one of my favorites.
My mom recently discovered some lashes from the dollar store of all places and she brought a pair for me to try.
Obviously I was a little skeptic to try them, considering I was no where near familiar with the brand or the quality. Well well local dollar store and Select Lashes, you have made a fan out of me.
I wore S47 a couple of weeks ago, applied with some DUO glue (of course) and they wore so well that I forgot I had them on. I had my mom pick me up another style over the weekend, S66, and I can’t wait to wear them. Who knew you didn’t have to pay $7 to $15 for lashes?
Just a couple of days ago I was at CVS and picked up some lashes by Revlon. I was completely unaware that Revlon made lashes. I immediately grabbed the last pair that they had and now awaiting the perfect event to wear them to.
What are some of your most favorite pair of lashes?
I honestly wasn’t sure of the different between ombré and gradient. A little googling cleared things up for me per usual.
Om·bré – having colors or tones that shade into each other — used especially of fabrics in which the color is graduated from light to dark.
A color gradient (sometimes called a color ramp or color progression) specifies a range of position-dependent colors, usually used to fill a region.
So I was correct when applying an ombré lip.
I mixed a couple different lipsticks to achieve this look.
·Really Red by Revlon
·Maniac Mat by Sephora
·Myth by MAC
·Real Red lipliner by Sephora.
Maybe I want everything ombré now…
I was hesitant to purchase a homemade nail polish but I after seeing the beautiful creations from Chelsea Marie of Pretty and Polished, I am glad I did.
I snagged one of her most popular polishes, “Jawbreaker” last Friday and was so happy when it arrived today.
I applied two coats and sealed it with a gel top coat.
Maybe I have found a new love.
My name is Toshira.
I love simple things, like a great finds from the Goodwill, walking my dog and laughing about things that happened years ago.
I have more than enough dreams to count.
This is my creative outlet. I intend do a little bit of everything: I write reviews on products, discuss my experiences with cosmetic brands and companies, and create various looks. Also look forward to “Eye of The Day” (EOTD) posts, which is where I share the make up I wear on an everyday basis, ranging from natural to dramatic looks. I also will be featuring things I’m obsessed with fashion related.
If you would like to contact me with any questions, business inquiries, product consideration, or just to talk about anything beauty-related, please email me.
